How can I schedule my appointment for the initial examination?
To schedule a dental appointment, you can simply give us a call ((931) 526-4912) or use the contact form on our website: Contact Page. If you are a new patient, let us know so we can make sure you get all of the necessary information for your first appointment.
What should I expect during the first appointment?
At your first appointment, you will fill out paperwork through our online portal (you can do this at home or in the office). Then we will discuss your dental and medical history and go over any questions you have about your teeth, mouth and jaw. Next we will take x-rays and do a thorough exam and cleaning. If you have any problems we will discuss all of your options so you can make the choice that is right for you. We want you to be comfortable during your appointment, so let us know if there is anything we can do to accommodate you.
Will you accept my insurance?
You are able to utilize your dental insurance benefits at our office as long as your plan allows you to see any dental provider of your choosing. There are some plans called HMO’s that only allow you to receive benefits with a certain provider that has been chosen by an HR department or the insurance company. Dental insurance companies can make understanding your specific policy very confusing, which is why we have a highly trained insurance specialist at our office that can help you navigate your specific plan and find the best dental home for you.
What is my visit going to cost?
Treatment costs and insurance reimbursements change from time to time. We will go over your financial options for current and long term dental care and you will know the cost before your treatment begins. If you have dental insurance, we will see what that will cover to help you make the best decision for your oral health.
How can I take care of my teeth between dental checkups?
Brush your teeth at least twice a day, and floss at least once a day. Don’t forget to brush your tongue and schedule your routine checkups. Avoid foods that are high in sugar and tobacco.
At what age should I start taking my child to see the dentist?
We recommend that children see the dentist for the first time as a patient sometime around 2 or 3 years old. Scheduling your children for a “fun visit” early on will teach them there is nothing to be afraid of at a dental office. As a result, they will be more likely to have a healthy smile for a lifetime.
How often should I see the dentist?
We encourage our patients to come for a regular check up at least once every 6 months. If a patient has periodontal issues, we suggest they come every 3 to 4 months.
