Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I get my teeth cleaned on the first visit?
Sometimes you can. However, our dentists want to give you the best possible treatment, so gathering all pertinent information about your overall health, as well as your oral health, is necessary. Because most people do not want to be in a dental office a long time, we like the first visit to be one hour or less. On occasion, if you have no dental disease or gum disease, you can have your teeth cleaned on the first visit. If it has been awhile since your last cleaning, or if you have other more urgent concerns, your cleaning will be scheduled at a later date, along with a discussion of the plan to address your other treatment needs.
Why doesn’t dental insurance pay 100% like it is marketed?
Dental insurance is an actuarial business. It pays according to its rules and parameters. Most carriers have not increased the annual amount payable per person (usually $1000) in over forty years. In addition, dental insurance was never meant to be anything more than a partial payment of needed services. That’s why there are deductibles, co-payments, exceptions, etc.
Do you use the latest technologies?
Yes, we have state-of-the-art equipment, including digital x-rays and paperless charting. We also have intraoral cameras and TVs in every treatment room.
